Children Learning Reading Reviews

Before we jump into the children learning reading reviews from parents, we’d like to provide an overview of the program and discuss the importance of reading at an early age.

Children Learning Reading Reviews

Learning to read is a milestone in the life of every child. It is also imperative that children are taught to read as early as possible.

Children that read earlier on are much more likely to perform better in school, giving them the tools they need to pursue long-term success.

There are a variety of different ways parents can utilize in order to guide their child on the path of learning to read but few are as efficient as the Children Learning Reading program created by Jim Yang.

Today we’ll be discussing this program and how you can use it to help your child learn to read. We’ll also take a look at just a few of the many success stories from parents whose children used this system to start their journey towards reading.

We don’t expect you to simply take our word for it and we know that when you’re reading different reviews, you value what parents just like you have to say.

Exceptional Reading Program

Jim Yang’s Children Learning Reading program is one of the best reading programs on the scene and has been yielding exciting results. Designed with toddlers starting at 2 and a half years of age and up in mind, the system utilizes a step by step strategy that makes learning to read fun and easy!

So how does the program work? The main goal of Children Learning Reading’s step by step approach is to help children identify the relationship between certain words and sounds in order to more easily define them and, as a result, learn to read more quickly.

This strategy uses a mix of phonemes and phonics in a combined effort and it is this approach to reading that has helped so many children successfully learn to read at a young age.

Phonics and Phonemes

In order to better understand what this system can offer to your child, let’s take a moment to breakdown the two fundamental components used in the program: phonics and phonemes.

Phonics can essentially be classified as the baseline for the system. This learning skill aims to help children more easily identify the meaning of words by associating each word and letter with its corresponding sound.

Phonemes are similar to phonics but is a bit more specific in the sound type that it targets. To put it simply, phonemes are the smallest area of an individual sound that can help children more closely distinguish the differences between words that sound similar.

Learning phonemes are essential when teaching a child to read as there are a total of 44 phonemes in the English language with 1700 ways of pronouncing them.

Without much focus on phonemes, children have a significantly harder time learning to read and are unlikely to pick it up as quickly as those using a reading system similar to the Children Learning Reading program.

The Importance of Reading

We live in an age of information now more than ever and it is because of this that teaching our children to read (and better yet, enjoy it) is of the utmost importance.

There are a number of reasons that reading is important. From books to magazines, reading offers our children valuable opportunities to develop the language skills that they will carry on with them for the rest of their lives.

Our society is also incredibly reliant upon the use of technology and while some thought that our need to develop good reading skills would have diminished as the years went on, this couldn’t be more untrue.

From surfing the web and sending emails to using social media and texting, the need for developed reading and writing skills is everywhere.

It is likely that you understand the importance of reading- otherwise, you wouldn’t consider Children Learning Reading reviews like this one in order to get a better idea of what this program can do for your child.

With that, you have already taken the first step to successfully helping your child learn to read.

Testimonials From Parents

So let’s get to what you’ve all been waiting for and hear the testimonials from just a few of the many parents who got their children engaged with reading by using the Children Learning Reading program.

As you will be able to see from these success stories, the key to teaching a child to read quickly and efficiently is to apply the most important reading strategies while also fostering a love for reading.

The way you can verify these stories is by clicking on the testimonial boxes on the actual website for Children Learning Reading.

Jacob’s Success Story

Jacob’s mother, Diane, started using the lessons to teach Jacob starting at the age of just 14 months old.

Though Diane originally thought he may be a bit too young to start the reading process, she decided it was still worth a shot. As it turns out, she experienced the same great results that have been witnessed so many times.

Jacob worked with the Children Learning Reading program slowly at first, progressing from one step to the next, until he finally reached stage one of the program at 18 months.

Seeing how well her son was responding to the program, Diane pushed forward with Jacob and now at just 2 years and 4 months she is incredibly proud to report that Jacob can read an entire book unassisted.

Best of all, Diane decided to give Jacob a reading assessment to see at just how high of a level he was reading and found that he currently reads at a 2nd grade level!

You can imagine how happy Diane is with these results. Jacob will enter kindergarten with an incredibly advanced reading level and can only grow from here!

R.G.’s Success Story

While it’s very nice to hear of Jacob’s great success with reading before ever entering kindergarten, we are equally proud to highlight children that were able to use the program to develop a love of reading where they were fearful before.

This brings us to the story of R.G., a 2nd grade student who struggled to read at her grade level due to a fear of reading.

R.G.’s mother reported that she was afraid to read as she was afraid of being wrong and it was this lack of self-esteem that held her back from reading at the same level as her peers.

Desperate to find a way to help her daughter, R.G.’s mother turned to the Children Learning Reading program and after just 2 months with the program, R.G. was successfully reading at her grade level. Better yet, R.G.’s teacher reports that she fully expects her to surpass her reading level very soon.

It’s important to foster a child’s love of reading and R.G.’s story is testament to that fact. Her mother reports that while she was wary of the reading process before, she now looks forward to her reading lessons!

Puneet and Amrit’s Success Stories

Sisters Puneet and Amrit are two more cases of children who experienced the feeling of accomplishment associated with the Children Learning Reading program.

Beginning the program at ages 2 years and 11 months and 5 years and 4 months, neither sister knew how to read.

Their mother happily reported that after just four months with the program, her three year old daughter (Amrit) is reading at a grade 1 level while her 5 year old daughter (Puneet) is reading at a grade 2-3 level.

Both Puneet and Amrit have clearly become very excited about reading after their months with the program. It’s also quite obvious that both girls understand the value of reading as well.

Their mother reports that both girls have become avid readers and even search for examples of words in the world around them each and every day. Puneet has also developed a love of writing as she is now keeping a journal using simple sentences.

Kaira’s Success Story

Many children have received a serious self-esteem boost using the program and it is this sense of accomplishment that will prove imperative as they progress along their reading journey.

This is most certainly true in the case of Kaira, a 4 year old girl who made especially impressive progress in just two weeks with the program.

Kaira’s mother reports that in just two weeks, Kaira had become skilled with both segmenting and blending words. She even began spelling three letter words and writing them down from memory!

Her mother was also pleased to see Kaira’s clear excitement with her own progress saying that she couldn’t stop her from progressing through each lesson quickly and with great success.

While Kaira’s impressive results are not typical of all children, it shows just how much can be accomplished and learned when a child receives a boost of self-esteem.

If you were to test out the program for yourself, you may find that your child loves to read and will most assuredly see progress you’re unlikely to find in other reading programs.

The Reading Program That Makes All the Difference

As you will find in any number of reviews, this program can make all the difference when the time comes for you to introduce your child to reading.

This program was developed with the learning experience and process in mind and is designed to utilize a more holistic approach to reading than can be found in other reading systems. You may be wondering how this is possible.

While other more mainstream reading programs opt to use sight association to teach your child to read, this system understands the problems that a sight association strategy can introduce.

All too often, children become visibly frustrated when trying to identify words based on the sight association learning model as they can memorize the easier, more obvious words but feel helpless when it comes to reading less common, difficult words and phrases.

When children learn to read with Jim’s system, however, there is a very observable difference. The program is, above all else, engaging and fun for your child and you will be able to see their excitement each time they’re able to identify a word that they couldn’t before.

Final Thoughts

We are confident that this system will be a great fit for your child, helping them learn to read in as little as 12 weeks.

As a matter of fact, Jim Yang has put so much faith in his program that if you don’t see positive results, he provides a 60-day money back guarantee.

Imagine the high sense of self-esteem your child will feel entering kindergarten with such an extensive knowledge of the basics!

Invest in your child’s future today by trying out this program and remember that if you don’t feel it’s a good fit, you can always return it no questions asked.

  1. Hi James,

The biggest reason I have been looking for something like this is to help my boy escape from the public curriculum and use the early years when he actually finds reading interesting to uncover what he may be most passionate about and focus his learning around that.

Thank you for sharing the overview and customer reviews.

    All the best Ropata

    • Hi Ropata,

That sounds like a brilliant idea, and I’ve heard that homeschooled children perform better academically so your instincts are probably correct. I’m glad you enjoyed my post, best of luck to you and your son!

  2. Really interesting post on how children learn to read best. I had no idea about phonemes and that there are 44 in English causing 1700 variations! That’s crazy, makes me wonder if I know all of them or not haha. Probably as I’m a native English speaker, just never occurred to me that there were so many. Do you think phonemes are the most important aspect of reading comprehension for children at a young age? Thanks for the post it was interesting.

    • Hi there,

I’m happy you got value out of my post! To answer your question, I’d have to say that phonemes are part of it, however, the engagement of the child matters a lot so you want to make the reading appear to be fun. With the way this program is designed, you should have no problems engaging your child and helping them progress.

  3. I heard about this program from a colleague at work and they said they make use of it for their kid so I decided to read more on it before joining for my kid too. I’m very impressed with what I’ve read about here. It’s nice to see all the features and how they introduce reading in such a simple and friendly way for kids. This is a fantastic review, and I’ll try my best to make good use of this program for my baby.

    • Hi Bella,

I’m happy you decided to check it out, it’s one of the few high quality reading products on the market. I’m sure you’ll love it and thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!

  4. Hi James. It’s great just how many excellent early reading programs there are these days.
I’m a Great Grandfather now, and am looking at ways to help our newest family members gain the love of reading.
Reading is such a huge help, I think, when it comes to academic success.
I’m lucky, as my parents introduced me to reading fairly early. (It was Noddy books and similar, as I remember)
I read my first adult novel at around 10, and have been an avid reader ever since.
This program you reviewed here sounds excellent. Thanks for the article.
